The Failure At God School (vol 1-3) (9 June 2026)
I've been enjoying the Failure at God School, spoilers for the volumes mentioned. So far my ship opinions are: Nagi and Tsukuyomi no Mikoto - main ship for marketing /main characters central to the story, Nagi and Touta - main ship with canon evidence behind it, Nagi and Miruru - the true ship in my heart.
My prediction is Nagi's power will be nullifying other's powers like Aizawa from BNHA. I enjoy her character and how much of a jock she is. The characters so far have been fun to read about and the little details about their backgrounds and personalities make them feel much more real.
One part of the series I find especially promising is the worldbuilding, little details like arguments about translations for 'Gods' between countries like the anglosphere using the term 'Fairy' instead are really interesting and allow for audience participation. That little detail also led me to coming up with my own headcanons. My headcanons are that in the England untrained Himiko are referred to as Changelings and were originally looked at with distrust, having their abilities being whispered to be because they were fairies taking the place of human children. As they gain training their official title now becomes Fairy which spread to other countries as a practice. Most Himiko in England are trained in specialised private schools where some students can get subsidised fees from the government if they agree to work for it for a given number of years.
